<image:title>poetry - Little White Riding Hood - LITTLE WHITE RIDING HOOD</image:title>
<image:caption>As the first sun rays of the day shined upon my leaves, I awoke blithely from my slumber to a white hooded figure pacing through the pastures. As her beauty and grace beamed across the fields, Her billowy-soft voice fluttered in my ears. She stopped along my feet, my steady roots a temporary seat, in hand, her basket and white cotton sheet. Rest for now my dear, For your destination is far from near. The road, is bleak and never quite clear, for sinful figures lurk around here and suddenly they shall appear. Soon, and if not careful, greed and poison shall unfold: a wolf, of charming words but of spirit cold, you’ve yet to know the violence he holds: thy evil creature shows no affinity, hungry for chastity, thirsty for purity. Keep your courage near, distant but not austere, for prudence my dear, prevails above fear. Alas darkness reigns, I feel her weight slowly wane. Her voice, once harmonious decay, now taut and strained. I struggled to scream, but struggled in vain. Deaf to my warnings, anticipating my mourning. I called upon my old friend the wind. But his gust was far too faint as well. She did not foresee the coming hell. As the depth of the woods swallow her whole, I see her cotton coat once as white and pure as her soul: contaminated, coarse, and now reddened by the spills from her fall.</image:caption>

Comment faire ? Comment plaire ? Comment réparer cette bassesse. Des femmes et des femmes ou plutôt des déesses, me regarde de travers, et d’un oeil me rabaisse, Comment faire ? Comment plaire ? Comment s’en sortir de cet enfer ? Affreuse, moche, mauvaise. Comment satisfaire ? Votre visage me semble angélique !

On respire l’air frais. On descend. On descend.

      <image:title>poetry - What is Beirut? - WHAT IS BEIRUT?</image:title>
<image:caption>What is Beirut? Beirut is the beautiful water that flows against your skin when you swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Beirut is the mellow feeling that reassures you, that comforts you. Beirut is the solace the stream provides you. Beirut is the serenity of family that surrounds you. Beirut is the current that lingers, unified, when an obstacle oppresses it. Beirut is the current that diverges when an obstacle oppresses it. Beirut is that constant anticipation. Beirut is the worry, knowing that at any moment, the water may flow cold, and, may only flow colder. Beirut: do I leave the flow? Do I separate myself? Do I willingly leave the warmth that engulfs me? Do I move out of the current and swim in another sea? Beirut do I leave you when you need me to stay? Beirut is the first snowflake of the season. Beirut is the childlike hope you regain so quickly yet unwillingly. Beirut is the excitement, Beirut is the eagerness. Beirut is the amiability and the heat from a fireplace. Beirut, is your first love, the purest form of love, unconditional love. Beirut is your first hug, your first kiss and your first and last tear. And, Beirut is the storm. Beirut is the fret and the panic that seems to endure in the air. Will it pass? Will it destroy everything in its path? Beirut is the afternoons spent by the beach, surrounded by loved ones. Surrounded by love. Beirut is the smell of salt in your hair. The joy, the exhilaration. The adrenaline that rushes through your veins while you jump into the dancing waves. Beirut is the buzzing sea and its dormant strength. Beirut is the dreamy sea dousing its guests. But beware, it is also the crashing wave that knocks you down unexpectedly. The wave that picks you up so effortlessly, as if you are weightless, as if you are meaningless. Beirut is that first cigarette. You need it, you crave it. But it is toxic, it is deadly. Beirut is addictive. Beirut is a conundrum. So, ask me again: what is Beirut? Beirut is complicated.</image:caption>

      <image:title>poetry - Beyrouth Mon Amour - BEYROUTH, MON AMOUR</image:title>
Beyrouth, tu me manques. Ton odeur me manque. On te quitte Beyrouth, tes amoureux te quittent.

<image:caption>NANA-TOMY: Close-up shot in Black & White photography. This image symbolizes the passing of time. It is an image of my grandmother's and my hand. The bracelets that seem to link together highlight the strong bond that connect us through love and the passing down of a solid value system. We are separate but united as one.</image:caption>

<image:caption>APOCALYPSE: Urban scene shot in Black & White. This photograph was taken at the site of the Beirut port blast. The group is running away from the port as if playing, the streets have no cars. It is a discreet reference to the destruction and speaks of the untold. It is only when you look closely that you see the destroyed buildings, the satellites on the TV station cars and the glass shards on the road.</image:caption>

<image:caption>PEARL: High contrast shot in Black & White taken in Faraya, an area in the mountains of Lebanon. The image highlights the arid nature of the land. The contrast is further accentuated by the curved horizon line. These also become lines of a perspective focusing on the trees at the center of the image. This perspective is again highlighted by the sun ray at the top left corner of the photograph. The duality of the composition: horizon vs perspective, makes it a dynamic image of what would be a static view.</image:caption>

<image:caption>CUT OFF: Abstract shot taken in Vienna of the freshly cut trees. The contrast in textures and the sharp edge of the tree line as opposed to the blurry softness of the sky gives a reassuring order to the viewer. There is no room for chaos.</image:caption>

<image:caption>SO-FAR: High contrast Black & White shot in Sofar, Lebanon. Although taken in 2020, this image wants to take us back to times that passed. The grainy texture along with the traditional dress of the seated group makes the mind wonder. The viewer is lost in time however the iconic pine tree of Lebanon sets the viewer in space.</image:caption>

<image:caption>LAYERS THREE: Close up seascape shot in the North of Lebanon showing the textures of the Lebanese coast. The Mediterranean sea is central to the openness of the Lebanese people. The colors of the green grass blend into the rocks that blend into the water. Although the image depicts rough materials, an overall unspoken feeling of softness flows from the photograph.</image:caption>

<image:caption>THAWRA: Close up shot from the Lebanese Independence Day march organized by the people in November 2019 during "Thawra" (i.e. revolution). The day was symbolic in the sense that it united a previously divided people against the corrupt government. This unity is highlighted with the holding of hands of men in civilian clothing that in contrast stand in an army like formation. The people are the army of the nation on November 22, 2019.</image:caption>

<image:caption>FLORA + FAUNA: Dramatic high contrast lighting shot of a pink flamingo at the zoo. This photograph uses chiaroscuro to highlight the brightness of the pink color in contrast to its surroundings. The flamingo appears in all its elegance. There is a part of another bird that appears on the right-hand side of the image and tricks the eye of the viewer to see as if a reflection of the central bird. The flamingo seems to be standing in front of a mirror when he is not.</image:caption>

<image:caption>SHADOW DANCING: High contrast shot in Black & White depicting sharp shadows that portray the strength of the sunlight. The sun is strong and the heat exudes from the whiteness of the asphalt. It is midday and the shadows are short.
